ARTIST STATEMENT:

My goal is to conceptualize the space of memory. With my projection installations, I am drawing an analogy between the fleeting nature of human memory and the ephemeral phenomenon of light. Both are massless and fading. I project heavily collaged digital photographs to explore 1) the impermanence of moments, and 2) the fallibility of memories, which are so easily distorted by societal and personal narratives. When making these, I meditate on place and how I fit into historical and fictional geographical narratives, ethnically, intellectually, and physically.
